Podiatry Services

Diagnosis and treatment of acute foot and ankle injuries, degenerative foot problems and overuse injuries. All our podiatrists are ACC registered.

Musculoskeletal pain can occur for a variety of reasons at any age and stage of life. Foot and leg pain commonly occurs in the knee, shin, ankle, heel, Archilles tendon, arch, ball of the foot and toes. Pain is generally caused by tissue damage resulting from an accident (acute injury) or overuse (chronic injury). Long-term conditions such as diabetes and arthritis, plus normal ageing, can also lead to degenerative foot problems including pain and altered foot shape.

At Podium, our podiatrists provide a comprehensive musculoskeletal examination including prior history, non-weightbearing and weightbearing tests, footwear assessment and gait analysis. Our team are trained to diagnose and treat a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions including stress fractures, sprains/strains, plantar plate rupture, neuroma (nerve entrapment), plantar fasciitis (heel or arch pain), Achilles tendonitis and various sports injuries. Management options are tailored to the individual and include symptom management, mechanical therapies (padding, strapping, off-loading), exercise prescription, shockwave therapy, orthotic therapy, and footwear advice.
